Welcome to BoxForge Studio!

1. Profile (2D)

• Draw: Click/tap on the white canvas grid to place points for your box outline.
• Grid Scale: Use the 'Grid (mm)' dropdown to change the spacing of the minor grid lines and snapping distance.
• Close Loop: Click near the starting point (a circle will appear) to close the shape. The 'Build Type' button will activate.
• Undo: Made a mistake? Click to remove the last point.
• Wall Thickness: Adjust the slider/number for the desired wall thickness (used in 'Create Walls' mode).
• Trace Image: Click to load an image. Use the opacity slider that appears to help tracing. Click to remove the image.
• Clear: Click Clear to start over.

2. Choose Build Type

• Once the profile is closed, click Build Type .
• Select 'Create Walls' for a hollow box (with optional base/roof).
• Select 'Create Base/Solid' for a solid extrusion flat on the print bed.
• Select 'Create Front/Solid' for a solid extrusion standing upright.

3. Shape (3D)

• View: Drag with mouse/finger to rotate. Scroll/pinch to zoom. Right-click/two-finger drag to pan.
• Fit View: Click to reset the camera.
• Adjust: Use sliders/numbers to set Height/Depth. Base/Roof controls only affect 'Walls' mode.

4. Add Parts (Optional)

• Click Add Cylinder to add simple cylindrical features (basic POC).
• Click Manage to view and delete added components.

5. Export

• Save/Load: Use / to save/load your project's progress (JSON file).
• Export: Choose your desired format (STL, GLB, OBJ) and click Export Files. 'Separate' STL exports each part (walls, base, roof, components) individually. 'Combined' exports merge visible parts into one file.

Tip: Use the coordinate display in the status bar (bottom left) while drawing!

How should the 2D profile be turned into a 3D shape?

'Walls' creates a hollow shape. 'Base/Solid' extrudes flat. 'Front/Solid' extrudes upright.

Manage Components

Select a component from the list to delete it.
